Akshay Vat Vatika in Muzaffarnagar is a huge banyan tree that is 5100 years of age, with its foundations spreading for what it’s worth and the stature of the tree being 150 feet. It is perceived that Sage Sukhdeva, sat under this specific tree and presented Puranas to the grandson of Arjun, King Parikshit for 7 days continuously. Subsequently, this tree is viewed as an image of holiness, truth, and pardoning.

The Akshaya Vat is accepted not to shed any of its leaves and consequently named as ‘ The Tree of Undying Character’. Love birds visit this spot as a custom and tie a red string around it.
